Lady of Leadership Ceremony

On Saturday, June 13, 2009, the ladies of Mu Sigma Zeta presented two young ladies with the Lady of Leadership scholarship awards. The two lucky recipients, out of 15 candidates, were Raechel Stewart and Sarah Hafley.
Raechel Stewart is a graduate from Bonita Vista High School and is attending San Diego State University in the fall, majoring in either Psychology or Mechanical Engineering. Raechel earned this award by being a leader in her school as a peer counselor and excelling in academics.
Sarah Hafley is a graduate from Scripps Ranch High School and is attending the University of the Pacific in the fall, majoring in musical clarinet . Sarah earned this award by also being a leader in her school, excelling in academics and creating a honor band program at a local middle school.
The program was led by scholarship chair, Soror Nikita Smith, who gave a welcome and introduction, followed by the history of Zeta by Soror Leandra Holland. There was a overview of our community service programs followed by a "Zeta's wish for you", presented to the recipients, which was a word of advice from the sorors to the recipients.
The closing remarks were given by our Basileus, Soror Lena Smith and a light lunch was shared by all in attendance.
The event was very successful and the young ladies were excited to receive the honor.
